The report writing had been started. I mostly focus on the introduction, background and placement plan. Though it might be considered the less important part, I put more time in these section to provide the details about my work placement and in what state it is now.
The introduction basically informs a quick summary of my work placement and what the report covers. Information about the suspension on the work placement is also put into detail in this section to briefly explain some changes and different approaches taken in the work placement report.
The background section covers more details on Nelson Pine Industries company profile. The IT team profile and responsibility are also provided in this section. This also includes the skills and interest in working with the team in NPIL. The writing on this section needed more research on the company profile itself.
There are a lot of changes in the placement plan, to put it as plain as what I am tasked would result the placement plan to have too much modification later due to finishing the task much sooner than expected. Therefore, the placement plan will display estimated and expected hours of work on different tasks from preparation to report writing. The inability to fulfill the work placement hours are also stated here. In addition to that, changes in approach on report writing will be explained in more details as well.
Coming to the next chapter, comes a challenge which is memorizing what had been done in the work placement. Though my previous entry on the blogs did put some description on what I had done, it did not cover proper details in it.
Currently, New Zealand is going to alert level 2 and NPIL still would not allow non-essential employee to work on-site. We were obliged to work online from home if we can. This proves my inability to check my work or have any details on it. With less documentation on it, all of it will have to come to memory and hopefully it can cover all the details needed.
This week I spent some time going back on the topics which I have learned before initiating the work placement in NPIL. The link below was the modules I used to prepare for work placement. Next step would be writing up the work placement report as I have remembered. The challenges and the details of it is an integral part of the learning from this work placement. Thus, it would be explained in the report in more details.
